The Lonely Printer

Linocut printing is an art form that’s been around since the late 19th century and has proven popular with full time artists and hobbyists alike ever since. But, like many traditional art forms they can get a little “dusty”. So, with my pieces I have tried to blow-off some of that dust by infusing the work with whimsy, humour and sometimes macabre themes. Print-making is a nearly perfect union of all the aspects of the creative process I love: conceptualization, experimentation, design and the tactile--all with a dash of blind luck! In essence, it scratches my many artistic itches. I hope my work scratches yours.

Dandi Gorlies is a collective effort between Presley Mills, Michaela Fach, Alex Bentley, Claire MacConnell and their extended crafting friend network. A shared love of creative expression brought us together about a year ago and we have been hosting weekly craft nights since. What started as a casual night to enjoy doodling, painting, sculpting, or embroidering in parallel has become a crucial part of our week. We believe in joy as an act of resistance and in collective creation to build community, face challenges together and just enjoy being a gorlie (lol).

Little Moth Shop

Welcome to Little Moth Shop, where cute meets creepy in the most delightful way! Our collection features a mix of dark humor and whimsical charm, like our signature pin that boldly declares, "The key to my heart is a knife," sprinkled with pink glitter. Or, check out our Mystery Moth enamel pins, each with six unique variants — from edgy, alternative moths with chains and piercings, to quirky ice cream-themed designs, and the classic yet cute Death's-head moths with a twist. But that’s just the beginning! We offer over 20 enamel pin designs, plus keychains, stickers, and pop culture-inspired goods. We’ve even expanded to include mouse pads, large desk/game mats, automotive accessories (like air fresheners and bumper stickers), and fun extras like hanging pin pendants and bottle openers. Little Moth Shop is a tiny powerhouse — much like its home city of Hamilton. Driven by a passion for blending sweet and sour, we create designs that add a little edge and a lot of personality to your everyday life. Whether you're here for the cute, the creepy, or the just plain quirky, we’ve got something for you. Get ready to embrace your dark side with a smile!

Rupert Rooster Ceramics

Rupert likes to bend the rules with his pottery. He mixes old ideas with new ones and plays around with different techniques. Each piece turns out unique, thanks to the unpredictable nature of clay. Pottery became important to Rupert after his husband passed away two years ago. It's his way of honoring their memory and taking some of the risks they never did together. Through his work, Rupert shares stories of love and new experiences, hoping others will connect with each piece in their own way.

Me+Ru

Me + Ru, Paper and Things for the Undiscerning, had its start making “saucy scrabble” art pieces, sometimes weird, sometimes dark, questionably funny. The original scrabbles evolved into a greeting card line, which has evolved into a little bit of everything to make your day that much saucier.

Unruly Hobby

I'm a trans autistic artist in Mohkinstsis. I work with a large variety of mediums and make whatever I'm in the mood to make, largely focusing on an odd or whimsical style. I utilize manly second hand or found objects to make art and jewelry some of which is made to resemble animal parts without any dead animals, like my bug wing earrings and bird feet earrings and necklaces. I also do framed paintings, patches, bead work, and paper clay wearable or displayable masks.

Snow Bunny Mermaid

Alison’s current work focuses on the development of a playful and absurd cast of small creatures. The creatures share a vulnerable, somewhat fragile quality, yet are assigned vital force in their existence. The development of these characters and their worlds is drawn from her background. She grew up on a farm outside a ghost town in southwestern Saskatchewan. The ghost town nurtured a passion for the aesthetic of antiques and vintage elements present in her work. Meanwhile, the prairies inspired attention to nature, animals, and tiny details which she depicts. These elements are brought to life through her paintings, drawings and intaglio printmaking which are often nestled into handmade and vintage frames. The ornate picture frames provide a whimsical element to further the theatrical narrative in the work. In addition, Alison is also a professional mermaid and sets up submerged cameras to capture performative, artistic underwater videos, and photographs of her mermaid swimming. Alison holds a BFA from the University of Regina and an MFA in Printmaking from Louisiana State University. Originally from the South Saskatchewan prairies, she currently lives in Calgary. She is involved in the art community, exhibiting her work, coordinating community exhibition and events, teaching and volunteering. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.

Our charity was founded in 2019 by CEO Melissa David, and was created to bridge the gap between human social services and keeping pets with their families. At Parachutes for Pets (PFP), we understand and celebrate the human-animal bond, proactively working toward building strong community support systems to protect this connection. Whether a family needs a pet food bank or a safe place for their pet, PFP steps in to provide the resources and services to help pets and their people navigate the challenges of life, from illness to being unhoused, to natural disasters and daily struggles faced by vulnerable families.
